Me and Henry David Thoreau in front of the replica of his small hut he lived in by Walden Pond. Ha! what a shorty...
Between Lexington and Concord we stopped at the Minute Man Visitor's Center. While we were checking out the souvenirs, a lady in all of her biking gear walked in and loudly pronounced to the park ranger that she just saw a fox. She asked him if it was still safe to bike on the trail. I just about busted up laughing right then, but as the ranger was kindly reassuring her that the animal was probably more afraid of humans, she interjected, 'But I felt it sensed my fear!! Animals attack when they sense fear!' I lost it and had to go outside and call Todd to tell him the funny story. I still keep laughing about it pretty hard everytime I think about it. Sorry to anyone who is afraid of foxes, because yes, in a sense I am laughing at you too. Famous graves at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. This vinyl was just laying on Louisa M Alcott's grave--Bridge over Troubled Water. I couldn't really figure out what they had to do with each other. Anyone know?
Sleepy Hollow was one of the highlights of my trip. I love old graveyards. Don't think I'm creepy, but I really do like cemeteries. I learned that my sister Suzanne (who I went to Boston with) really likes them too. I never knew... But one of the reasons I think I like cemeteries so much is that I have really fond memories of going on walks with my mom to the Hyrum cemetery to look for owls at dusk. There used to be up to four or five that lived there, and we would always be able to spot at least one or two. We figured out which trees they liked the best and which headstones they perched on. They'd whoot and whoot at us as we walked around. Also stemming from those memories is my love for owls. Whoo Whoo.

Those are some great pics. Looks like you had a great trip. It is amazing how much history is back East. Makes the West seem so new...or something. :) We would love to go to Boston some day.
