A trip to Paradise

It seems like whenever I feel like going out and shooting and I don't have much direction in where to go, I just head south to Paradise. It's such a fascinating town to me. I've been there a hundred times, but I always find something new, which is usually something old, that I love. These doors are what I liked today.

Anyone eaten at the Cracker Barrel? I used to go there with my mom and dad on Friday nights when they'd serve their huge yummy steaks that they were famous for. Right now, it just switched ownership and they are gutting and remodeling the place.

I thought this was a funny picture of a couple of pheasants going to church. They heard the Mormon Church was pretty cool.

So, I have a funny story that I just thought of. It happened a few months ago. My friend Tracie and I were sitting in my car looking at a parking ticket that I had just found on my windshield. My door was open as I was reading the ticket and all of the sudden, this lady with kinda crazy hair pops her head into my car and says enthusiastically loud, "Did you know your license plate says, 'Mah-Maaah'??? Ha, ha, ha!!! Did you do that on purpose, cause that's so funny!" I said, "No, it just came like that." She replies," Well, it's just so funny." Then looks at my face that is about to burst into laughter, and continues, "Don't think I'm crazy...I'm the Paradise Town Clown!!! It's true. I do all sorts of creations out of balloons. I can show you if you ever want to come to my house. I can make a balloon animal for you." I looked at Tracie and she looked a bit mortified, and I reply, "That's awesome." And yes, that's all I said. That's all I could say. What do you say to that? Anyway, she was content with that and walked away from my car door and went on to rummage through her brown car from 1981.

PS-our Jetta's license plate is something like 228 MMA. But I now know that it's 228 Mah-Maahh. Oh, and the parking ticket ended up being thrown out because it was for parking the front of my car a little bit over the sidewalk that was covered up by 2 feet of snow and hadn't been plowed for weeks, thus I couldn't see the sidewalk. Lame, but at least I didn't have to pay for it.
