Boston Trip Day 3 - part 1

Day 3 was spent wandering around parts of Boston. The next four shots are from across the river from Harvard University along a fun walk/running trail.

I took this shot for Todd on my phone as well and sent him a picture message. I thought it was pretty funny.
One of the many old churches in downtown Boston area.

The next four photos are from the very first public library in the US.

Camille -- you don't know me, but I'm Todd's cousin, Natalie (his dad's sister, Maureen, is my grandma) -- and my husband and I just went to Boston, too! You take such great shots, it's almost like being there again. We LOVED the library, so here's couple of funny stories for you about it:
1. When you enter the library, there's this cool statue my husband wanted to take a picture of, so he walked right up and snapped it. Almost as soon as he'd taken it, though, TWO security guards came up to him -- "No flash, no flash!" That's all they would say, but they were pretty adamant about it. The rest of the library, we were careful not to use a flash on all the gorgeous paintings, but we kept wondering -- is it really possible to damage a STATUE with a flash??
2. There is such cool architectural detail on the ceilings everywhere, isn't there? I couldn't keep my eyes from going UP! Well, as you go up the stairs (by the lions), I noticed that all the panels in the ceiling looked like they were in good condition -- except one. The one where the chandelier was! It was so funny to me, that I pointed it out to my sister-in-law (who's the one that lives there), and Joel photographed a funny series of us looking up and then running away.

All right, that's about the world's longest comment. Thanks for the fun blog -- it's nice to get to know you this way! Please e-mail me at joelandnatalie@yahoo.com if you'd like.
