A girl's best friend

I love this new white spot on Sam's nose. It must be an age spot because it keeps getting bigger, but I think its so cute. She also now has a little grey beard and white whiskers.

She loves the back of the truck.
Sam has been with me since I was sixteen. She's going on 12 years old! I rescued her from an animal hospital and she was the cutest puppy ever. Her giant paws and awkward puppy body followed me around constantly and she's never stopped since...even when I'm on the riding lawn-mower, she follows me criss-crossing the lawn for an hour. She's not much of a water dog, but if I'm out swimming farther than she thinks I should be, she whines and paces until she finally just gets in and swims out to me. She sees I'm okay then turns around for shore. We had lots of fun swimming in the dam this summer getting ready for my triathlon. She's pretty much the best dog ever.

Cute trusty Sam! I sure hope that we get one just like her some day. I still can't believe she lived through the cake eating incident! What a dog!

Oh, Sam! She is pretty much the only dog that didn't make me run and hide--as you know I am deathly afraid of dogs. :) She really is a beautiful animal. The Stewarts wouldn't be the Stewarts without Sam!
