Paragliding!!!

As some of you know, I moonlight a bit doing construction. My boss Dan called me today and invited me to go paragliding with him and some friends. I've been wanting Dan to take me skydiving this fall, but the Saturdays that I've been able to go, it's been bad weather. (Like tomorrow, there's a front coming in.) So Dan opted for this. It was such a rush! I didn't get it on my first try, but my second try I floated for just a little bit. Then my fourth launch was perfect! I ran it beautifully, did my hands and brakes just right and I paraglided 75-80 feet above the ground for probably around a minute then steered down to the bottom and had a nice running landing. Such a great feeling! That's when I finally realized I needed my camera. But by then, it was getting fairly dark, so the pictures aren't that great. But I'll be going at least one more time in the next few weeks, so maybe I'll get some better pictures then...

My last attempt. The wind was coming from behind a little and so the launches were more difficult at this point.
The view of the valley above Millville. Can't really tell it's a hill...
So this is where I landed my good run and ran to get my camera while Jon grabbed the chute for me. See the little dot and other red parachute way up there? That's where I started.
This is Dan giving it a go.
Laying out the chute for Dan
Dan, again, Jon the instructor, and Chancy, his dog.
