My Best Birthday Week

We started the week right by celebrating my birthday early with the Neeley's.  Tuesday night I was uplifted and motivated at a youth fireside where Larry Gelwix, the coach of the Highland High rugby team gave an amazing talk.  Wednesday night I got to spend the evening with two of my good friends and old roommates at her wedding dinner.  Tracie took me to lunch on Thursday and Thursday night I played in my volleyball game, which I always love.  (Albeit we mostly lose, I still like it.) And then Friday was the official turning of the decades for me.  We were in Salt Lake and spent the morning at a park, my sister took me to a yummy mexican lunch, and Todd took me to a Vietnamese place in West Valley.  (The Vietnamese place is AMAZING! So good.  Thanks Rene and Anthony for introducing it to us!)

Here are some shots from Friday at the park:  If we ever moved to SL, I really would want to live in DayBreak.  I love it.

Saturday brought much goodness as well.  I left Rem with my sister and went shopping in the morning.  Then we headed to the mountains with donuts.  Yummy, mouth-watering donuts.  Why donuts?  They were our special treat to enjoy after hiking to Donut Falls.

While waiting for such donuts...we had to entertain ourselves somehow.  Three things came to mind:

Nose picking:

Licking like a kitty:

And pulling faces at eachother:

Now on to the hike:

I should have taken a photo of the donuts we feasted on after the hike.  As usual, Remy loved the hike.  She only sat in the backpack for a few minutes.  Otherwise she was hiking or I was carrying her, but she hiked most of the way.  Poor Suzanne had to have an annoying empty backpack on the whole time because Remy just was not interesting in sitting when she could be running and climbing and hiking.

Best Birthday Week ever.  I think I like this 'birthday week' thing.
